SURPRISE!

I got a wonderful surprise over the weekend! My 10 year pin arrived! It came in a beautiful box! I was quite impressed!

Stepping Back

Let’s back up a bit in case you haven’t heard my Stampin’ Up! story. The time was August 2004. I was making my quarterly (BeauBet – my grandmother name) trip to Charlotte, NC to see my son, daughter-in-law and 2 granddarlin’s.

Stampin’ Up! Party

Jason picked me up at the airport and Davy and the girls greeted me at the door. Davy said, “Guess what?!? We’re having a Stampin’ Up! party!” A what??? I’d never heard of SU. She did let me get my bags to the bedroom and then we dove into the catalog. On Saturday, Melissa arrived to do a couple quick cards with us and Davy’s friend, Lisa. But we weren’t satisfied with that! We wanted to know how to do everything– techniques, etc. (a real Demonstrator’s nightmare) Finally poor Melissa said she had to go, she was paying a babysitter.

Signing Up

Well, my daughter-in-law, Davy signed up as a demonstrator. Her friend, Lisa signed up under her and I ended up signing up under Lisa. (What was I doing???)

Then the Box Arrived

When I got my box of business and stampin’ supplies, that you order when you sign up, I started playing and absolutely freaked out! I called my “DIL” crying that I couldn’t do this! Now we are talking the “olden days”-before everything was on google. I thought everything had to be my original idea! I didn’t know about CASEing (copy and share everything), where, you could see a card and copy it exactly OR put your own spin on it.

Much Needed Support

Well, I made it through those first years with the love and support from Davy and Lisa, and eventually got in with a local group of demonstrators. I grew to love creating and Stampin’ Up! After a few years, my upline Lisa dropped out and I signed up with a local demonstrator and friend, Ginger.

I am totally thrilled to get my 10 year pin to show off! Stampin’ Up! is the most wonderful company to work for. I have made friends locally, both demonstrators and customers, and friends from all over the world! The company’s support is extraordinary! We are a community! We are a family!

Retiring List

The next news I have is to announce is that the 2021-22 annual catalog has been revealed to the demonstrators! And the retiring list from the 2020 catalog is out! So start shopping and get ’em while they are available! Click here to see what is retiring!
