Well hello out there!
It seems as though I have been distracted lately, and the weather has certainly been front and center!
Burrrrr! In mid February, we had a COLD SNAP brought on by a crazy storm on a Thursday, my FB Live day! (I just don’t understand why I am not consulted about these events! Haha!) That knocked out electricity plus the plumber showed up to change out 2 faucets and cut the water off!!! That made stamping on my FB Live “Lunch with Laura” difficult!
On the next Sunday (if memory serves me) the COLD hit. With is came 5 minutes of snow, 10 minutes of sleet and lots of rain which quickly turned into ice! The temperature was 19°! Needless to say, us Cajuns are not ready for this! I lost power for 3-1/2 days. The first day we toughed it out! Made coffee (awful) on the gas grill. (The house we are renting does not have gas!)
During all the drama, I did manage to stamp, bundled up like an Eskimo along with candles that made it look more like a seance! At 6 P.M. Rod, Ziggy and I piled into the bed along with LOTS of blankets we were snug as 3 bugs in a rug and slept til 8 A.M.
Looking for a warmer place, the next day we found out our office had electricity so we spent the day there and came home to sleep. The temperature was now 49° in the house!
When we woke up it was 47°! At that point we finally found someone to take us in! My sweet “daughter-cuz” and her husband let us stay at their home. We also had Ziggy and they have Kona (a BIG dog). Well, the dogs tolerated each other-no BFFs there! But their 2 year old daughter had a blast playing with Ziggy. We were able to bring most of out frozen food over there and only lost some of the refrigerated stuff!
The next day after lunch, we were headed home to check on everything when my sweet neighbor texted that the power was ON! Hallelujah!!! But once again, no stamping on my FB Live “Lunch with Laura”!
This week: lights on! Internet working! At last it was time to stamp! Here are a few of the things I have done. For details scroll to the top and click on gallery!
See you soon!
