I had a wonderful day that started out at church and altar guild duty. Afterwards, one of my co-altar guild members invited me over to her home in Southdowns. She has a charming older home decorated with antiques and beautiful Native American pictures. She enjoys her yard and has a couple areas where she grows herbs and plenty of hummingbird feeders for the birds to feast on. We shared family stories, stories about work and so on while drinking Bloody Marys.
Next I went over to my Godson’s home. He was at his violin lesson, so I visited with his Dad and Grandmother.
It was nice to take time out to catch up with friends!
Check out this darling box I made for my Godson, Evan’s class!
TIP: You can get 3 cuts out of an 8-1/2″ x 11″ sheet of CS. Cut one piece at 6″ and the other will be 5″. |
Cut this one out of the 5″ piece. |
Cut 2 out of the 6″ piece, placing and cutting as shown. |
Fold on crease lines, and glue bottoms together (sorry –not shown). |
TIP: Fold the 2 sides that look like handles and squish while folding over the side with the slit. |
Fill with goodies and fold last side over. |
And here is the recipe:
- Cut 2 pieces of red CS using Curvy Keepsake Thinlit.
- Glue squarish bottoms together.
- Use black strip for belt, trimming excess (save for inside of buckle).
- Punch silver buckle and 2 black buttons.
- Assemble box adding treat.
- Make label and tie with baker’s twine.
