Hi all and thanks for dropping by!
Last week (2/18/14) I was working on my Hostess Club layout and I discussed CASEing where you see something and either copy it exactly or use parts or ideas from different cards/layouts. I have come up with a pretty winter layout taking ideas from a couple of the layouts I showed you. You’ll get to see the finished product tomorrow, so be sure to come back and see it.
I am using an “new” product–new to me but not to the Stampin’ Up! catalog. Core’dinations is sandable card stock. When it is distressed either by sanding or tearing it shows a coordinating color.
The layout is in Whisper White with Soft Sky, Pool Party, Coastal Cabana and silver–there’s that bling again!
I’m going to take you through the technique I used for part of the title.
Here I glued chipboard letters to my grid sheet. (This is just like in elementary school where we did leaf rubbings or coins.)
I also added a line so I could center the Core’dination Pool Party and placed it on top of the letters.
Using our sanding block I lightly sanded and the letters were revealed. Start off gently-you can always resand to make it bolder.
Now I am wiping my card stock with a tacky cloth to remove all the dust. Can you see how the letters show up?
Oh, and here I am cutting a small piece of the tacky cloth. When it is used up just toss it.
Here are the supplies I used:
Core’dination (129954 $23.95) 40- 12″ x 12″ sheets in 10 colors
Stampin’ Sanding System (129367 $3.95)
Core’dinations Dust Buddy (129366 $2.50) (tacky cloth)
Remember to return tomorrow to see how my CASEed layout turned out! (Not sure I spelled that right!?!)
Happy stampin’,
~Laura
