Today I had a girl’s nite out with two friends I’ve made at the UREC at LSU. Michele was one of my zumba teachers and Tori was taking her class with me! One is a Phi Mu (like me) and the other is a Kappa Delta. We went to the Mexican restaurant on campus and ate and visited. I feel kind of like I’ve adopted them. They both come over to stamp occasionally and Michele has joined my scrapbook hostess club. Next week is “dead week” so things will be quiet, winding the semester down and they’ll be heading home for the holidays. So nice to hang out with the young people (boy does that make me sound old) and sharing stories long past (mine) and current (their’s).
I wanted you to see the way I decorated my gift for the ornament swap last night. It’s always awesome to go all out with cards, scrapbooking, etc. but it is just as awesome to sometimes stand back and remember that simple can be good. Especially this time of year when our time is at a premium! So here it is!
First I stamped white paper. Then I wrapped our new 1-1/4″ Burlap Ribbon (132140) around the package followed by Cherry Cobbler card stock that I cut out using the Tasteful Trim Bigz die (120893). Last I stamped Old Olive on Whisper White using the Tags 4 You stamp set (131823) and the Label Bracket Punch (132153) both in the Holiday catalog.
TIP: I punched another bracket in Cherry Cobbler and cut it in 1/2 to give the appearance of layered brackets.
Happy stampin’,
