We had a wonderful time exchanging Christmas ideas, making flowers out of framelits and playing a game. The girls brought snacks and I took care of the drinks. We had Poinsettias made of champagne and cranberry juice along with tortilla roll ups, spicey dip, veggie tray, fruit tray, red velvet triffle, cake balls and turtles. Num-num-num!
The game, called Color Name Guessing Game was with the Stampin’ Up! colors. Clues were provided to determine the real name of the Stampin’ Up! color. Ex: Genuine Rouge–Real Red. Tracey won with 25/26 and Sally came in 2nd. Each won a roll of ribbon.

As promised the directions to make those
cute flowers I put on my wreath. (See yester-
day’s post.)

Supplies needed:
Coffee filters (cone or other)
Festive Flurry Framelits Dies (132193)
Big Shot (113439)
Blushing Bride Reinker (131157)
Primrose Petals Ink Pad (126858)
Sponge Daubers (102892)
Stampin Spritzer (126185)
Paper Piercer (126189)
Alcohol

Step 1: Cut 2 snowflakes with each of the four framelits. You should have 8 for each flower.

Step 2: Lay out all 8 snowflakes and sponge the edges with ink using a sponge dauber. You can ink as light or heavy as you want.

Step 3: Mix 25 drops of ink with alcohol to make about 1/3 of spritzing bottle-again the more ink the darker the color. Spritz each snowflake. It doesn’t have to be perfect.

Step 4: Layer the snowflakes one on top of the other. The paper dries quickly and I even layered mine before completely dry.

Step 5: Use a paper piercer to make hole in center and add a brad to hold pieces together. You can wrap wire around brad several times before opening “legs”. This is what you will use to anchor flower to wreath.

Step 6: Starting in center with smallest snowflake, scruntch the layers one at a time to reach the desired look.

TIP: I cut 2 of the cone coffee filters at a time making enough for 2 flowers (or use 4 of the other kind of filters).

TIP: If you prefer, you can ink the snowflakes and not spritz at all.

Hope you will try this fun technique.

Happy stampin’,
~Laura
