Good morning all!
Cooler weather at last! Signs of Halloween all over. One of the best times of the year!
There is lots going on at Stampin’ Up! Stamps are 15% off for a limited time–see details below. And some fabulous weekly deals!
Here is the 2nd card we made at HSS hostess club last week. The card was inspired by Michelle Zindorf and uses a combination of sponging and embossing. I had planned to use the black “crows” and owl from the Among the Branches set, but I didn’t order it in time–so a little improvision and what could be creepier than spiders! And I couldn’t resist using my retired bat punch! Sorry!

Fast Fuse Adhesive (129026 $10)
DIRECTIONS:
1. Using the brayer, cover the front of one piece of Saraha Sand CS. (The other piece goes inside.) Apply ink in all directions.
2. Punch a circle with the circle punch and place on card for moon.
3. Sponge in order of lightest to darkest. Sponge Pumpkin Pie over about 3/4 of the (now) So Saffron CS.
4. Sponge the top 1/2 of your card with Real Red and the top remaining 1/4 in Elegant Eggplant.
5. Next, use a clean brayer to add color to the embossing folder. Brayer the side of the folder where you feel the tree trunks.
6. Immediately, place CS inside of the folder and run through the Big Shot. The ink must be wet.
7. Stamp Early Espresso on Vellum and allow to try. Apply to card using glue dots.
8. Stamp spiders.
TECHNIQUES:
1. Sponging—it is best to use sponges instead of sponge daubers for this technique. The sponges come 3 to a pack and each can be cut into fourths. The sponge daubers sometimes leave circles and I use them for many other things.
2. Masking-this is when you cover a portion of your project with (in this case) a sticky note. When removed, it leaves a perfect circle for the moon.
TIPS:
1. Apply ink with sponges in circles, blending as you go.
2. When using the brayer on embossing folder, start at the top and go to the bottom of the trees. Keep doing it until you have good coverage.
3. Cleaning your brayer is easy. Just pop out the rubber attachment and rinse with water. Dry thoroughly and it’s ready to put away or use for another color.
