Several years ago I made a trifold card for one of my card classes. I keep a notebook of all the techniques I have tried over the years. Sometimes when I get stuck, I like to go back through those for ideas using current stamp sets. The first card I made “back in the day” opened and closed like a regular card, since the front flap was adhered shut with sticky strip.
Here is the 2nd card made at the July HSS Hostess Club. I really loved the way it turned out and I think it could work for a “man” card. Men like butterflies, don’t they? I took a survey at my house and the butterflies won! There are only two people I know that don’t like butterflies-one is an actress and we know they can be weird and the other is my best friend and…I won’t go there!!!

Stamp butterfly in Cajun Craze ink and cut out both with Butterfly
Thinlits. Punch small butterfly.

Tie ribbon around to close card.
Here is the template sample. The measurements maybe slightly off and your CS may need to be trimmed-use scratch paper first! |
1. Trifold Card. This is the time to dust off those math skills you hoped
youʼd never have to use. I always make a template out of computer paper
and /or cardboard before cutting CS. There are several different styles out
there. Google to see and learn how to make others.
2. Stampinʼ off.
TIPS:
1. CAREFULLY fully ink and stamp sentiments. I RARELY ADHERE CS
FIRST! SO BE CAREFUL!!!
2.STAMPINʼ WITHOUT REINKING: Stamp and repeat on CS, OR ink
stamp and stamp on scratch paper. This gives a muted appearance.
3.THINLIT DIES: For intricate pieces, use either waxed paper or an unused
dryer sheet. Layer CS, waxed paper, thinlit and run it through once and
back through to make sure all is cut. Use paper piercer to clean out all cut
pieces.
Try some of your old cards with a few twists–different colors, stamp sets, accessories.
Happy stampin’,
