Hi! I hope you had a great weekend. Saturday I had our quarterly demonstrator meeting and training. Lauri and Paula both went to convention and told us all about the make n takes, the general sessions and free give aways, the classes offered and we got to see a ton of things from the holiday mini that will be coming your way soon. I also took advantage of the tax free weekend by sending the Hostess Scrapbook in on time!
Now to the really good part! One of our new demonstrators, Amy, CASEd this card and I CASEd it from her. It is called a Magic Envelope card and came originally from Kelly Acheson. I think it was passed down from her. Amy used it as an invitation, so I decided to make birthday cards and a thank you card. Here is my finished card:
Here is the open card. I’ll write my message probably on the
bottom flap. |
And here is it folded. This is the front where the address
would go and the tiny triangle I am holding is for the stamp.
I am putting sticky strip there also since it is all that’s holding it
together.
Now for the instruction for the magic envelope: use the Simply
Scored with the diagonal plate. |
1. Score at 1-5/8″, then turn card stock 180 degrees
2. Score at 4″. Now turn counter clockwise 1/4 turn. |
3. Score at 2-3/4″ AND at 9-1/8″. Turn 180 degrees. |
4. Score at 6-1/8″. |
Here is my scratch sheet. The instructions are
numbered 1-4, and A-E for the folds. |
I put a sticky label on the top of my simply scored to know
when and where to score. |
Here I am folding fold A using my bone folder to make a nice crease. |
Fold B |
Fold C |
Fold D |
Fold E |
TIP: Use plain paper to practice several times and watch the youtube video before messing up 2 pieces of card stock like I did:(
