I spent the day with my good friend that I have known for 30 years. Her dad passed away and I went to the funeral and then to her home to visit. The baptist church where the service was held brought back childhood memories. Although it is more of a small country church and First Baptist where I was raised was a huge downtown church, the songs and message were the same. “How Great Thou Art”, “The Garden”, “Amazing Grace” were some of the songs I still know by heart.

During my college years I got away from church and when I decided to return I went to the Episcopal church–another of the downtown churches. Now and then when the organist or choir director picks the music, we’ll sing some of those good ole time religious “Baptist” hymns and I know my Daddy’s been talking to someone and he’s in heaven singing out of tune right along with us. When my friends would ask, “didn’t your parents have a fit when you became Episcopal?” I’d reply, “no, they were just glad I was back in church!” And besides, Momma always said the Episcopalian’s got me when I went to Trinity in Kindergarten.

Today’s card reminds me of spring. I know it’s still a few weeks away, but see what you think.

TIP: I use a retired piece of cardstock, cut 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″, to place over the front of the card before I slip it into the envelope. That way it helps going through the postal meters and keeps the pearls from being moved around.

See ya tomorrow! Happy stampin’,
